Film 3 - Gaining employment

Photography is form of art, it is more than just taking a photo. You need to be able to use the camera and other photography equipment such as lighting, lenses and digital technology but you also need to be able to put the your own creativity into your work, have confidence, motivation and patience.
There are many ways you can make a living as a photographer such as commercial and industry photographer. These people focus on doing work for adverts, catalogues and magazines.
Portrait photographers focus doing work in the studio taking pictures of people by themselves and medium to large groups of people but very few studio based photographers don't make over 50k a year.

It is important to get an education with in the photography industry to become a professional photographer.
Like Colleges (Level 2 Creative Media Production, Level 3 Extended Diploma in Photography), universities (BA Honours, MA) art institutes and photography schools all over the country offer programs designed for anyone looking to aspire to a career in the photography industry these places focus on teaching technical and creative skills.
You also need to know the basic fundamentals of photography like colour theory and film processing.
There are many methods of recruitment such as using the internet the search and apply for jobs. There are many photography based jobs that can be applied for.
There is also national press such as news papers that will advertise jobs within the photography industry as well as in photography magazines.
To get into the photography industry employers usually look for people with creativity and originality
to get to an entry level in photography you require to have a college degree in photography.
Freelance and portrait photographers need vocational training and more experience in photography such as a university degree.

Film 2

"In general under the law of the United Kingdom one cannot prevent photography of private property from a public place, and in general the right to take photographs on private land upon which permission has been obtained is similarly unrestricted. However landowners are permitted to impose any conditions they wish upon entry to a property, such as forbidding or restricting photography. Two public locations in the UK, Trafalgar square and parliament square  have a specific provision against photography for commercial purposes without the written permission of the Mayor, and permission is needed to photograph or film for commercial purposes in the royal parks.Persistent or aggressive photography of a single individual may come under the legal definition of harassment". (wiki) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photography_and_the_law)
I agree with this because if a photographer took photographs in parliament square without permission of the mayor it would be against the law and I think it is a good idea to have a law on where people can take photographs for the safety and privacy of people and where they live.

What is a documentary?

A Documentary bring viewers into new worlds and experiences through the presentation of factual information about real people, places, and events, generally -- but not always -- portrayed through the use of actual images and artifacts. But factuality alone does not define documentary films; it's what the filmmaker does with those factual elements, weaving them into an overall narrative that strives to be as compelling as it is truthful and is often greater than the sum of its parts.
In general, documentary films focus on real life and include footage of events as they happened. A movie about World War II might feature actors portraying soldiers, real or fictional, in the war, recreating certain battles or events. In contrast to this, a documentary film about World War II might primarily feature news reel footage of actual fighting, with commentary from experts and veterans who were in the war. It is this focus on documenting reality above drama or a fictional narrative that typically separates these movies from summer blockbusters and other popular films.

photo essay

Proposal-

For this essay I am going to take pictures of "how to make a steak dinner" and make it into a short video.
i will use close up shot and medium shots to make it more interesting.

The target audience is for people that are interested in how to cook.

Evaluation -
whether it's guys dropping in on thirty foot waves, a family's first trip to Disney World or a plastic bag floating aimlessly against a brick wall, moving images have excited or comforted all of us at some point.
What we're perhaps less accustomed to is the power of still images. More specifically, series of photographs set to sound, used to tell a STORY. We frequently see this used in online journalism. I suppose you could call these "slideshows," but it would be more appropriate to call these "photo essays."
For my photo essay I photographed images of my little brother when he is playing with his toys. I wanted  to show that he is a important person in my family and I care for him. I shot the pictures from different angles - primarily close-ups and mid-shots as I wanted to put the audience into his world.
i took pictures of me making a steak dinner
and brought then into college and imported them into final cut pro where i
edit the images together. i used a fade effect of the beginning at the begging of the video and the end to make it flow better.

Improvement -
I could improve my video by making it longer with more images
and more variety of images i could also use more long shots and show more
about how i made it.
